Abstract

The development of biotechnology techniques that ensure the realization of the genetic
potential of the reproductive function of pigs in conditions of local and foreign breeding minifarms is very important for increasing the productivity of pigs. In this regard, production
inspection of biologically active substances such as "Fertagon" is a relevant scientific problem.
The aim of the research was to evaluate the reproductive qualities of breeding sows when using
the new hormonal preparation "Fertagon" in conditions of a minifarm. For the experiment 4
groups of animals were formed. With the purpose of induction (stimulation) of genesial cycles,
the experimental groups of animals were stimulated with the hormonal preparation "Fertagon" at
a dose of 10 mcg (2 ml). The treatment of breeding sows was carried out in the morning on the
same day of weaning (the 1st experimental group) and the day before weaning (the 3rd
experimental group). During estruation the breeding sows were mated with service boars of fast
growing meat breed (SM-1). It was found that the use of the hormonal preparation "Fertagon"
had a positive effect on the estruation of breeding sows. After 10 days this indicator among
experimental animals from the 1st and the 3rd groups was 80.0 and 86.6 compared to 66.6 and
64.3% in the control groups (2nd and 4th); in 21 days – 86.6 and 93.3 compared to 80.0 and
78.6%. In 10 days (group of certain type of pigs), an average amount of treated animals with
estruation was 83.3%, while in control group of animals this indicator averaged 65.4%.
Stimulation of sows` reproductive function with the help of the hormonal preparation "Fertagon"
positively influenced on impregnation capacity and prolificacy. Impregnation capacity among
experimental animals in groups (1st and 3rd) was 92.3 and 92.8 compared to 75.0 and 72.7% in
control groups (2nd and 4th). Prolificacy was 11 , 4 and 11.6 compared to 10.7 and 10.9 heads,
respectively. The economic efficiency of the hormonal preparation "Fertagon" is 123300 rubles
per 100 farrowed sows.
