Abstract

Currently, there is no objective market pricing mechanism for wool. The current price lists, which are the basis for the negotiated prices, do not fully take into account the technological value of different wool sorts; do not reflect the real use value of the goods. Suffice it to say that the price of wool obtained in the leading breeding farm, where Australian rams have been used for many years, and the price of the same assortment of wool obtained in a commercial herd is the same.

For these reasons, and also because of their exceptional properties, wool has always occupied and occupies a special place in the market of raw materials and finished products, although the rise and decline periods in the development of its production and processing are no exception. It is necessary to prepare wool for sale. Without proper preparation, there is no question of a normal price. Why do the Chinese buy from us not prepared wool at low prices? They clean it; prepare for realization receiving, respectively, a great price. However, in some breeding farms, the culture of sheep breeding conduction, the careful raising of fine wool assortments, professional classification and realization in specialized enterprises are very developed, one of them is the Agricultural enterprise collective farm “Plemzavod Vtoraya pyatiletka” of the Stavropol Territory, which for many years has been selling wool at a higher price unlike other sheep farms.

The results of the wool qualitative indices study in a sheep flock of the Dzhalginsky merino sheep breed gradually showed why the wool of this farm was so highly valued.
