Abstract

The aim of the research was to develop new highly productive flocks of the Ordabasy breed of sheep with different productivity traits, using the potential of domestic and foreign gene pools. The scientific work was carried out in the farm conditions of LLP “Altybas”, APC “OtyrarAgro” and the “Seraly” farm in the Turkestan region. The research established that the live weight of ram lambs at birth at LLP “Altybas” was 5.62 kg, and that of ewe lambs was 5.24 kg; at the APC “OtyrarAgro”, the ram lambs weighed 5.12 kg and the ewe lambs 4.98 kg; and at the farm “Seraly”, the respective weights were 5.59 kg and 5.16 kg.An analysis of the live weight of the lambs showed that in the selection group, the average daily gain in live weight of 30‑day‑old rams across all three farms during this period was relatively equal – 117–328 g, while for ewe lambs this parameter ranged from 256 to 290 g (a difference of 15,4 %).In the case of introgressive crossing, the aforementioned growth parameters for the specified period amounted to: 286 g, 273 g, and 296 g. The difference in average daily growth between the young rams of the selection group and the young rams obtained from the introgressive crossing averaged 11,8%, and between the ewe lambs – 6,5%. A comparative analysis of the growth dynamics at 60 and 90 days in the selection groups showed that after 60 days there is a rather sharp decline in the average daily gain of lambs of both sex and age groups. In terms of young rams, the decrease by farms was as follows:LLP “Altybas” – 32,6%, APC “OtyrarAgro” – 30,2%, farm “Seraly” – 29,8%; for ewe lambs, respectively – 32,4%, 34,9% and29.6%. A similartrend is observedin lambs in the groups subjected to introgressive crossing. Thus, in the context of the studied farms, the parameters for young rams were as follows: at LLP “Altybas” – 36,1%, at APC “OtyrarAgro” – 20,3%, at the farm “Seraly”– 35,1%; for ewe lambs, respectively – 30,1%, 26,2%, and 36,7%.
