FEATURES OF USE FOR BREEDING EVALUATION IN SHEEP FARMING OF MATLAB SOFTWARE PACKAGE

Abstract

The use of mathematical methods in the breeding evaluation of animals has a long history. Nevertheless, in the evaluation of horned smalls, these methods are presented rather limited. This is due to the large number of animals, and therefore, the need to process arrays of information having a large dimension. In these conditions, the problem of using modern information technologies in the interests of animal husbandry becomes urgent. At the same time, specialists in animal husbandry, breeders and so on do not always have programming skills sufficient to apply mathematical methods of animals breeding evaluation. Undeniable help in this matter can provide specialized mathematical packages. One of these is the MATLAB integrated mathematical package. The advantages of this software product are determined by the fact that it is specifically designed for processing matrices. This means that the MATLAB programming language includes special functions for processing arrays, which allow you easy to cope with arithmetic and logical operations on entire matrices, as well as to determine the intersection of arrays, to carry out their combination and subtraction. In addition to this, the MATLAB language was specially created for use by a wide range of specialists, who are not directly related to the IT sphere. This led to the simplicity of learning the language, clear syntax, excellent graphics and visualization in the results of calculations. This article describes the features of the use of array processing functions built-in MATLAB, which were used by the author in the development of breeding evaluation programs in sheep breeding. The article presents drawings with fragments of these programs, illustrating the features in the application of these functions.
