EFFECTIVENESS OF THE USE OF IRAS FEED ADDITIVE IN THE RAISING OF BROILER CHICKS

Abstract

The purpose of the studies is to determine the effectiveness of the use of the
biologically active feed additive IRAS in the raising of broiler chicks. The experiment to determine the practicability of using IRAS additive was carried out in the Republic of Adygea
on the basis of a peasant farm enterprise. In order to conduct the experiment, 200 day-old
chicks of Cobb-500 cross were divided into two groups. The conditions of keeping were the
same. Both groups received the basic diet depending on age: start, growth, finish. Chicks of
both groups received standard compound feed. The difference in feeding was that in one of
the groups, IRAS feed additive was added using a stepwise mixing method at the rate of 10
ml per 1 kg of feed. That group was experimental. Such feeding conditions continued
throughout the technological cycle of growing chicks. They contributed to the fact that by the
end of raising in the experimental group, an increase in the live weight of chicks of 124,0 g
was observed, which was 6,2%. The difference compared to the control was statistically significant. The introduction of a feed additive into the diet of poultry of the experimental group
ensured a significant increase in the daily live weight gain by 6,36%. When analyzing the
poultry livability, it was found that this indicator was 98,0% in the experimental group versus
97,0% in the control. The use of a feed additive in the diets of poultry of the experimental
group ensured a reduction in feed costs by 1 kg of gain of 0,03 kg. The broiler growth efficiency index in the control group was 269 units, and in the experimental group – 294. The
slaughter and meat qualities were higher in the test sample. The slaughter yield of chick carcasses of the experimental group exceeded the control indicator by 0,83% and amounted to
73,1%. The total muscle mass in the control group was 914,5 g, and in the experimental group
– 933.8 g.
