PRODUCTIVE TRAITS OF MEAT-WOOL SHEEP BREED IN UZBEKISTAN

The article presents the results of the offspring productivity studies. The offspring were obtained from ewes of the meat-wool breed, moreover, the insemination of experimental animals was carried out on different dates (earlier – September and later – November). According to the research, the following results were obtained: lambs, which were obtained from artificial insemination of ewes with frozen sperm of stud rams, had higher live
weight: at birth – by 0,4 kg or 9,3%, at 15 days of age – by 0,5 kg or 6,8%, at 3 months of age
– by 0,4 kg or 1,3% and at 5 months of age – by 1,6 kg or 4,2%, in relation to the live weight
of lambs, which were obtained from natural insemination by breeding rams. This proves the
effectiveness of the method of introducing artificial insemination of ewes with frozen sperm
of rams, which are typical for the world gene pool. It was found that the live weight of young
rams, which were born in February (group I, winter lambing) at birth was 4,93 kg, which is
0,34 kg (7,4%) more than weight of herdmates from group II, which were born in spring
(April). As for young ewes, the same parameter was 0.29 kg (7,0%) higher in favor of group
I. It was found that these parameters at the age of six months were also higher by 5,44 kg
(15,9%) and 3,79 kg (11,6%), at 12 months – 6,02 kg (13,9%) and 5,44 kg (14,6%), and at 1,5
years of age – 6,23 kg (12,65%) and 6,0 kg (14,0%), respectively. Thus, the productive traits
of the offspring, which were obtained from the use of frozen sperm of high-value breeding
stud rams, were analyzed. The growth, development and exterior features of lambs, which
were born at different lambing periods, were determined.
