PRODUCTIVITY OF WEANED PIGLETS WHEN USING “SWEETFIT” FEED ADDITIVE IN THEIR DIET

Abstract

Currently, the compound feed industry faces significant requirements for the
production of high-quality compound feeds for weaned piglets, which must be balanced in
terms of nutrition, protein, carbohydrates, as well as minerals and vitamins. Weaned piglets
are young animals weaned from a sow at a certain age. In our production experiment, these
are 21-day-old piglets that are considered as weaned until the age of four months. Actually,
this time is a transitional period that affects the formation and further development of piglets,
and it is at this time that the piglet has not yet fully developed its digestive system. Based on
the above, the goal was to study the productivity of weaned piglets when using “SweetFit”
feed additive in compound feed. The study was conducted in 2024 at “Ariant” Agricultural
Firm LLC in Krasnogorsky, Yemanzhelinsky District, Chelyabinsk Region. This article presents the results of testing the new feed additive “SweetFit” in weaned piglets and its effect on
live weight gain. During the scientific and production experiment, it was found that the animal consumption of compound feed with “SweetFit” feed additive was higher – by 9,0-13,0
%, depending on the age of the young animals, compared to similar feed in the control group.
The live weight of young animals at withdrawal from the experiment was 9,9% higher in the
experimental group than in the control group. The absolute live weight gain in the experimental group was 37,82 kg, while in the control group it was 33,4 kg; the difference was 4,42
kg or 13,2%. Thus, the use of the feed additive “SweetFit” in feeding young pigs is an additional reserve for increasing the meat productivity of animals.
