MILK QUALITY AND ECONOMIC EFFICIENCY OF MILK PRODUCTION WHEN INCLUDING THE ENERGY FEED CONCENTRATE “ENERGOPAK” IN THE DIET OF COWS DURING THE TRANSIT PERIOD

Proper feeding of cows is a determining factor in their productivity and
health. Negative energy balance remains one of the most common metabolic disorders during
the transit period. Its consequences can be minimized by using special complex energy supplements in feeding. The aim of the research was to study the effect of feeding cows in the
transit period with the energy feed concentrate “Energopak” on milk quality and its economic
efficiency. The research was carried out under production conditions at the Agricultural Production Unit “Protasovshchina”, UE “Grodnooblgaz” in the Shchuchin District of the Grodno
Region. Four groups (one control and three experimental) of transit period cows were formed,
with 10 head in each group, taking into account genotype, live weight, and productivity. The
chemical composition of the milk of the experimental animals was determined in the milk laboratory of the Republic Unitary Agricultural Enterprise “Grodno Breeding Enterprise”. The
research showed that the use of the energy feed concentrate “Energopak” in the diets of cows
during the transit period in the amount of 300 g per head per day contributed to an increase in
the mass fraction of protein in milk on the 6th day of lactation by 0,07 percentage points, the
mass fraction of fat – by 0,12 percentage points (P < 0.05), SNF – by 0.24 percentage points;
on the 20th day of lactation – by 0.08 percentage points (P < 0,01), 0,09 and 0,04 percentage
points, respectively. Thus, the use of the studied supplement in the specified dosage during
the transit period is most effective, which is confirmed by the improvement in milk quality
indicators and an increase in sales profit by 6,0 %.
