DYNAMICS OF MOBILE SULFUR CONTENT IN THE AGRO-SOILS OF THE FOREST-STEPPE ZONE OF THE YUZHNO-MINUSINSK DISTRICT OF THE KRASNOYARSK TERRITORY

The generalization of monitoring observations was carried out for the period
1994-2024 in the forest-steppe zone of the Yuzhno-Minusinsk natural District. The availability of mobile sulfur in the agro-soils of the assessed territory of the Krasnoyarsk Territory varies significantly. The fluctuation in the content of this element depends on the type/subtype of
the soil and the level of its fertility. The data from a continuous agrochemical survey of the
agro-soils of the region indicate a deficient content of mobile sulfur. The weighted average is
4,9 mg/kg (low). This is due to the high removal of the element from the crop yield and low
replenishment. The use of sulfur-containing and organic fertilizers in the region does not
match the amounts of nutrients to maintain a deficiency-free balance. The purpose of the work
is to assess the availability of mobile sulfur in the agro–soils of the forest-steppe zone based
on long-term monitoring observations at reference sites. During the 30-year observation period, the availability of mobile (sulphated) sulfur in soils decreased significantly. Changes in
sulfur in the soil profile are subject to significant fluctuations depending on the agrochemical
parameters of the soil and the granulometric composition. The revealed changes in the sulfur
content in the arable layer are due to agrotechnical conditions: the level of fertilization and the
precursor crop, as well as the agrochemical state of the soils.
