MEATINESS OF YOUNG SHEEP OF THE EDILBAEV BREED WHEN A PHYTOGENIC FEED ADDITIVE IS INTRODUCED INTO THE DIET

In our country, the issue of providing the population with high-quality products of animal origin is being studied in detail. A special place is given to the production of meat and meat by-products and waste. Meat is the main source of food for the normal existence of the human body due to the high content of complete protein, which is so rich in amino acids. In order to ensure food security of the country, researches are being conducted to breed new and improve existing breeds in the sheep breeding industry. In this regard, in the peasant farm enterprise Dagalaev I. M. in the Saratov Region, we conducted experimental work to study the effect of a phytogenic feed additive on the slaughter performance of young Edilbaev sheep. For this purpose, the authors of the paper formed four groups of young rams with 25 head in each using the analog method. The groups were kept both on the main diet and on feed, which was enriched with a phytogenic feed additive at a concentration of 5; 10 and 15 g per head per day. At four and seven months, control slaughters were carried out with subsequent boning of carcasses in order to determine their morphological and meat type composition. The results showed that in terms of slaughter yield at seven months, the young animals of the III experimental group exceeded their herdmates from the control, I and II experimental groups by 6,60; 4,85 and 2,19 abs. %. In terms of meat yield, the young rams of the III experimental group were also ahead of their herdmates from other groups at the age of seven months by 2,16; 1,54 and 0,86 abs. %, respectively. In terms of meatiness coefficient, an advantage was observed in the III experimental group, amounting to 3,79 units, the lowest coefficient – 3,33 units – in the control group. In terms of the yield of first quality joints, the young rams of the III experimental group exceeded their herdmates from the control, I and II studied groups at the age of seven months by 2,03; 1,16 and 0,58 abs.%.
