EFFECT OF COATED UREA ON MILK PRODUCTIVITY AND MILK QUALITY OF COWS

Abstract

“Protected” urea can act as an alternative to: high-protein grain feeds (soybean, lupine, peas, etc.) and products of the oil-extracting industry (mill cake, oilseed meal) in terms of crude protein. Using the physiological characteristics of ruminants, the use of nitrogen-containing substances has practical significance. The studies to evaluate the effect of coated urea on the productivity of first-calf heifers were conducted in the APC collective breeding farm “Kazminsky” of the Kochubeevsky municipal district of the Stavropol Territory. The article presents the material of scientific researches, which are focused on evaluating the effect of coated urea on the milk productivity of first-calf heifers and the quality of products. The inclusion of coated urea in the diets of first-calf heifers in the amount of 25% of the digestible protein contributed to an increase in milk yield by 5,3%, milk fat by 6,9%, protein by 6,4% and their sum by 6.6%, improved milk quality parameters for protein, fat, dry matter and energy value by 0,03; 0,05; 0,11% and 14,1 kcal/kg, respectively, and led to an increase in: profit per 1 ruble of costs for feed additive – 2,55 rubles and the level of profitability of milk production – by 5,56 abs. %.
