The article presents the results of using different methods of insemination of heifers: with sexed semen and traditional. It was found that 75% of heifers were born in the experimental group, and 48.9% in the control group, which made it possible to choose the best first-calf heifers for reproduction of breeding stock, as well as sell heifers to other farms. The growth dynamics of heifers in the groups was almost the same. On average from birth to 14 months in the group where the insemination method was traditional, the average daily gain was 985 g, which is 37 g less than in the experimental one. At the same age, the first productive insemination (13,9–14,2 months) occurred when the live weight of heifers in the experimental group was 466,5 kg, which was significantly more by 16,1 kg than in the control group. The milk yield of the first-calf heifers for 305 lactations was 11631,3 kg, which was 496,3 kg more than with traditional insemination. Parameters of fat, protein, lactose, nonfat milk solids, and milk density differed slightly between animal groups. The calculation of the economic efficiency of sexed semen use in insemination showed that due to the difference in milk yield of 496,3 kg, the additional profit per 1 cow was 18263,8 rubles. Considering that the difference in cost per insemination amounted to 3,090 rubles in favor of the control group, net profit per animal was 15173,8 rubles.
