Abstract

The article provides data on the use of a functional food product, the organic drink “Live Chlorella” as a feed additive for white Wistar rats. The investigational product
was added to the drinking water of the animals of the experimental groups. The animals of the
first experimental group consumed a 10% solution, the second – 20 %, the control animals
received drinking water without additives. As for the rest, feeding and care of the animals,
which were involved in the experiment, were the same. The duration of the experiment was
45 days. In order to control the effect of consuming the “Live Chlorella” drink on the body of
rats, control weighing was carried out, blood samples were taken for clinical and biochemical
studies, and behavioral reactions were tested in experimental and control group animals. A
higher intensity of body weight gain was established in specimens of the experimental groups.
Thus, in the first experimental group this parameter was 35,41 % higher than the result of
control specimens, and in the second experimental group – by 23,09 %. No negative effects
on clinical and biochemical blood parameters, as well as on behavioral reactions, consumption of a functional food product – the organic drink “Live Chlorella” have been established.
