In this article, on the breeding stock of 368 cows in the herd of Simmental beef breed, the influence of their live weight on the live weight of their offspring was studied in the LLC Barybino breeding plant of the Moscow Region. The weight of offspring was controlled at birth and weaning, as well as at the ages of 205, 400 and 600 days; 6, 8, 12 and 18 months. Milkness was considered on bull calves and heifers (weight at weaning) in terms of calving: first, second, third and older. The live weight of the heifers at the first insemination in terms of calving did not affect the live weight of offspring at birth and averaged 28,5 kg: bull calves – 29-30 kg and heifers – 27-28 kg. The optimum live weight during the fruitful insemination of Simmental meat breed heifers was in the range of 375-425 kg for getting offspring with high live weight at weaning.
