POLLEN ANALYSIS OF HONEY ACCORDING TO THE MODIFIED METHOD OF SPECIMEN PREPARATION

Abstract

The quality of honey, which is collected by bees, depends on the type of melliferous
plants. There is some information in publications which characterizes melliferous plants, their
phenology and bee attendance. These studies have limited and insufficient objectivity. They
do not give a true picture of the quality of the collected and accumulated honey in the hive.
With the help of its analysis, it is possible to assess its naturality, floristic and geographical
origin, to reveal the presence of all kinds of impurities and pollen grains of poisonous plants
which can cause toxic effect on the human body, etc. with a high degree of probability. Within the study of the botanical origin of Tver honeys, we have developed our own method of
specimen preparation from honey for its microscopic examination, which has advantages over
other ones.
