An experiment to determine the effectiveness at sheep wolfarthiosis of a macro cyclic
lactone suspension prepared under the conditions of the Research Institute of Sheep and Goat
Breeding was carried out on the basis of the TOK-Agro farm LLC in the Filimonovskaya
stanitsa, Izobilnensky district, Stavropol Territory. The work was carried out in June 2019 on
ewes, selected according to the principles of analogues (breed, age, live weight), having on
their body wounds (invaded by larvae of the Wolfarthia fly) obtained by shearing. Animals
ere divided into 4 groups, 10 in each, the drug was administered individually, once, orally in
doses of 0,25; 0,5; 0,75 and 1,0 ml per 10 kg of animal weight in each group. The
effectiveness of the drug was determined by the presence or absence of larvae in wounds the
next day. It was found that the drug at a dose of 0,25 ml/10 kg of animal weight was
ineffective: larvae were found in wounds of all animals. Doses of 0,75 and 1,0 ml/10 kg of
animal weight were 100%-s’ effective. Animals of these groups were completely freed from
invasion.
